Medical Care
Doctors and medical specialists assigned to the KFOR French, Moroccan
and United Arab Emirates military field hospitals in Multi-National Brigade
North carried out more than 3000 consultations and operations last week.
The hospitals are opened to civilians in all the neighboring
communities.
Media Opportunities
Brig. Gen. Maurizio Lodovisi, commander of the Italian Second
Operational detachment, which operates KFOR military airport in Pristina
will transfer authority to Col. Luca Goretti during a 6.40 pm ceremony which
will take place at the airport. Journalists are invited. For more

Multinational Brigade North
KFOR soldiers reinforce OP
The KFOR French Battalion reinforced night operation posts last night
in and around the village of Prilluzhe / Priluzje to maintain control after
a tree-cutting incident between a Kosovar Albanian and Kosovo Serb led to
the shooting of a Kosovo Serb man who was driving a tractor.
The man was not seriously injured.
No other incidents occurred during the night in which KFOR French
soldiers beefed up their observation posts.

Roma House Targeted
KFOR Finnish troops responded last night to a report that a Roma house
in Shtime/ Stimlje had been splashed with diesel fuel.
The soldiers were on a routine patrol when a local Albanian man
informed them that he had seen fuel being poured onto the fence of the
house. The KFOR Finnish explosives and ordinance team was dispatched to the
scene to clear the area.
Shots Fired in Restaurant
A pistol was confiscated after shots were heard from an Albanian
restaurant in Fushe Kosove/ Kosovo Polje at late last night.
KFOR Norwegian troops and UNMIK police were quickly on the scene after
seven or eight shots were heard. There were no injuries or destruction
evident.
KFOR soldiers found a 9mm pistol and spent cases inside the restaurant while
investigating the incident. The owner of the pistol had disappeared.
UNMIK police are investigating and acting further on the incident.

Man Attempts to Sell Drugs: Arrested
KFOR Task Force Istrice soldiers called UNMIK police when a Kosovo Serb
man approached the church in Gorazhdec / Goradzevac and tried to sell them
marajuana late yesterday morning. Soldiers detained the man and turned him
over to UNMIK police.
Later in the afternoon KFOR Task Force Istrice soldiers intervened when
a crowd of more than 100 people gathered to protest the man's arrest.
The crowd disperced peacefully after UNMIK released the man.
Medevac
KFOR Italian soldiers requested a medevac and had an Italian helicopter
fly a man, who was seriously injured in a car accident in Gjakova /
Djakovica, to Prishtina / Pristina hospital yesterday afternoon.
Weapons Seized
KFOR Italian soldiers assigned to Task Force Sauro stopped a car ten
kilometres north of Ggjakova / Djakovica. Soldiers found a pistol and
several rounds of ammunition as a result of a car search.
The soldiers detained the owner of the car who was then arrested by
UNMIK police.

Children find cluster bomb: EOD called
A KFOR explosive ordinance disposal team disposed of a cluster bomb
yesterday morning after children in found the device.
KFOR soldiers assigned to Task Force Dulje reported a fire near Leshane
/ Lesane yesterday late afternoon and assisted the local fire brigade in
extinguishing the blaze.
Multinational Brigade East
Mine Found
A KFOR US patrol found an antipersonnel mine with several trip wires
adjacent to a trail they were patrolling last night near Sushice / Susice.
The KFOR US soldiers marked the mine and contacted a US explosive ordinance
disposal team who in turn disposed of the mine this morning.
Road Repair
KFOR US soldiers from the 277th Asphalt Co, U.S. Army Reserve unit in
San Antonio, Texas are currently patching civilian roads along route Stag
and the ring road around Gjilan/Gniljane with the help of TMK soldiers.
KFOR and TMK soldiers work side-by-side cutting out bad spots in the
road and filling them with dirt and then cover the holes with asphalt.
Sgt. 1st Class Raymond Whiteside, NCOIC of the repaving squad, said
that the TMK soldiers "...work real hard. We are the first unit to work
side-by-side with them. They are very eager to work. They are
well-disciplined and hard working"
Imen Goshi, a soldier with the TMK, said, "We are trying to help
everyone. It does not matter if they are Albanians or Serbs, or another
ethnicity. We are considering all the people of Kosovo."
The mission is expected to take approximately two months to complete.
